Courtney Rafuse, a self-taught Canadian perfumer, has run her brand Universal Flowering since 2016, gaining a cult following for a dreamy, synesthetic approach that blends scent with texture, color, and sound, and collaborates with visual artists, designers, and novelists. She is also half of the house Gumamina with friend Marissa Zappas, and serves as in-house perfumer for Eleasium in Paris.
