A tailor's eye for detail

Pascal Gaurin's childhood fascination with smelling everything from food to furniture connected him to his great-grandfather, a bronze sculptor, and later to a tailor who taught him an appreciation for fine materials.

Pascal's story

The story

An article on the perfume industry in Vogue and a revelatory account of Jacques Polge's career convinced him to pursue perfumery seriously; he trained at ISIPCA and was recruited by IFF, where he now serves as VP Senior Perfumer. Early postings in Hong Kong exposed him to Chinese, Australian, and New Zealand markets, and his portfolio now includes work for Michael Kors, Vera Wang, and Tom Ford.
