Rei Kawakubo
Rei Kawakubo, born October 11, 1942, in Tokyo, studied fine art at Keio University before working in advertising, then as a freelance fashion stylist, founding the avant-garde label Comme des Garçons in 1969. She released her first CDG fragrance in 1994 and, in 1998, the iconic Odeur 53, built from 53 synthetic notes like fire, sand, and tires, deliberately structured without traditional top, middle, or base notes.
