Satori Osawa
Satori Osawa, born in Tokyo, grew up steeped in Japanese seasonal and floral tradition — her mother and grandmother were flower-arrangement teachers and her mother a tea ceremony master. She began studying perfumery in 1988 and in 1998 trained under Kenji Maruyama, former chief perfumer of Firmenich Switzerland, while also earning a Kado (Sogetsu school) master's license and a Sado (Urasenke school) tea name. She opened her own perfume atelier in 2000 and launched her Parfum Satori collection in 2003, becoming a member of La Société Française des Parfumeurs. In 2019 she became the first independent Japanese perfumer honored at the International Perfume Museum in Grasse.
