Steven Claisse
Steven Claisse, who originally hoped to become an architect, got his start as a lab technician for a chief perfumer, drawn to the parallel between fragrance formulas and architectural blueprints. A scholarship from the American Society of Perfumers took him to Grasse, where he met and learned from master perfumer Edmond Roudnitska. He later served as Senior VP of Corporate Fragrance Development at Belmay before becoming Vice President and Senior Perfumer at Takasago, with nearly five decades in the industry.
