Syd Buffman, a multidisciplinary artist and perfumer based in Los Angeles, grew up in Pennsylvania and lived in the Bay Area, Honolulu, and Warsaw.
RomantixA California College of the Arts graphic design graduate, she began studying clinical herbalism in 2008 after her interest in perfumery's botanical roots deepened, and later studied alchemy with modern practitioners. In 2018 she met mentor Dawn Spencer Hurwitz, moved to Los Angeles in 2021, and launched her fragrance line SYD Botanica in October 2022; she also co-founded the Coalition of Sustainable Perfumery.
