Yves Tanguy worked for eight years at Chanel in Grasse before moving to America to work for Estée Lauder, including its Aramis line, then joined Mane as perfumer-creator in 1979.
One of the first perfumers to use Calone for iodized, marine notes, he created New West for Aramis in 1988 — reportedly by adding Calone to Cristalle de Chanel — and also composed Lancôme's Magie Noire. Since 2001 he has devoted much of his time to preserving olfactory heritage and teaching at the Osmothèque and ISIPCA.
