The Quick Read
Respected, if divisive — a woody, amber composition with a leather undertone. Voted best for fall and winter wear — and genuinely unisex.

Launched in 1811, A L'Impériale by Oriza L. Legrand is a unisex fragrance that marries the warmth of amber and leather with the smoky complexity of cade oil and birch. The opening notes of saffron and black pepper introduce a fresh spicy tension, which then gives way to a heart of davana and tobacco leaf, adding depth and nuance. The base notes of guaiac wood, patchouli, cedar, and oud create an enveloping woody warmth that is both comforting and enigmatic.

Application Tips
Apply lightly to pulse points and allow it to develop over time. The smoky and spicy notes are most prominent in the first hour but gradually give way to the woody base, which lingers close to skin for hours.

The story behind the bottle.
The hush of a grand library at dusk, where the scent of leather-bound books mingles with the lingering smoke from a extinguished fire.
