The story behind the bottle.
Santal by Ajmal, launched in 2019, is a woody fragrance that marries the warmth of oud with the freshness of spicy notes. The opening saffron and nutmeg create an immediate sense of vibrancy, while ginger adds a subtle heat. As it evolves, gurjan balsam and sandalwood blend seamlessly into a rich blend of powdery woods and warm amber. The base notes of cedar and agarwood (oud) anchor the composition with their deep earthiness, while musk provides an enveloping softness.
Given its strong sillage and long-lasting nature, one or two sprays are sufficient. The fragrance blooms gradually over time, so it’s best to apply well before an event. It reads better close to skin than from a distance, making it ideal for intimate settings.
