Launched in 2003, Ambre Topkapi by MDCI Parfums is a Woody Spicy fragrance for men crafted by perfumer Pierre Bourdon. It opens with a vibrant and fresh spicy accord that features notes of lavender, pineapple, grapefruit, and melon, creating an immediate sense of brightness and energy. The heart blends aromatic herbs like basil and thyme with sweet florals such as jasmine and lily-of-the-valley, adding complexity and depth. As it settles into the base, rich woods, musk, amber, and leather create a warm and powdery finish that is both elegant and enduring.

Application Tips
Apply Ambre Topkapi in light layers — the fresh top notes are bright but fleeting. Focus on pulse points to let the rich base notes develop over time. This fragrance is perfect for daytime wear, where its vibrant opening gives way to a warm and cozy finish as the day progresses.
Pierre Bourdon
Founding perfumer · 36 fragrances

As Edmond Roudnitska’s only student, Pierre Bourdon was informed early on by the philosophy that perfumes should be created as works of art. With this in mind, Pierre went on to revolutionize perfume trends in the 1980s with his men’s perfume “Cool Water” for Davidoff. That was when he met Frédéric Malle. Having realized that they shared the same vision of perfume making, the two became like family to one another. It was obvious to Frédéric, when he created Editions de Parfums, that Pierre should compose its first perfume, Iris Poudre.
