As Sawira, launched by Penhaligon's in 2015 and crafted by perfumer Christian Provenzano, is a woody chypre that weaves together the warmth of oud and amber with the delicate beauty of rose and jasmine. The fragrance opens with saffron and bergamot, creating an intriguing contrast between the bright citrus notes and the rich metallic undertones. As it evolves, carnation and myrrh add layers of complexity, giving way to a base of labdanum and woody notes that evoke the feel of aged leather and warm spices.
