Launched in 2017 by Mugler, Aura Mugler is a composition that divides opinion with its distinctive cool menthol facet, often compared to toothpaste or a medicinal note running through the entire wear. Created by perfumers Daphné Bugey, Amandine Clerc-Marie, Christophe Raynaud, Marie Salamagne, and Olivier Cresp, this fragrance opens with rhubarb leaf and bergamot before settling into a heart of orange blossom, ylang-ylang, and pear. The base notes include bourbon vanilla, woody accords, amberwood, sandalwood, coumarin, and wolfwood.
Despite the polarizing nature of its composition, Aura Mugler is celebrated for its bright green, heart-shaped bottle, which stands out as a design highlight even among critics of the scent itself.
