Bel Ami by Hermès was launched in 1986, crafted by the perfumer Jean-Louis Sieuzac. This fragrance is a Woody Chypre that combines aromatic and earthy accords with warm spices and leather. The composition opens with sage, bergamot, and cardamom, before transitioning into a heart of carnation, patchouli, cedar, and basil. It settles into an intriguing base of orris root, jasmine, leather, oakmoss, styrax, vetiver, amber, vanilla, and coconut. The result is a complex blend that feels both classic and contemporary.

Application Tips
Bel Ami has a warm and enveloping base, so applying it to pulse points allows the scent to develop slowly throughout the day. It’s best worn in cooler weather when its earthy and spicy notes can truly shine without overpowering.
