Launched in 1984 by the Swiss-based Zino Davidoff Group, Davidoff is a chypre fragrance for men that was created by perfumer Edouard Fléchier. The composition opens with fresh and spicy top notes of lime, basil, artemisia, and lemon, which are balanced by the soft floral heart of carnation, caraway, rose, and orris root. It settles into a smoky, earthy base of leather, castoreum, oakmoss, and patchouli that evokes a sophisticated blend of ruggedness and elegance. This fragrance was an early example of Davidoff’s commitment to combining the finest materials with craftsmanship, setting a standard for luxury scents.
