Eau de Roche by Rochas, launched in 1946 and created by Marcel Rochas himself, is a landmark fragrance that embodies the freshness and elegance of its time. The composition opens with vibrant citrus notes like lime, lemon, and bergamot, which are balanced by aromatic herbs such as basil and verbena. As it evolves, soft florals like jasmine and wild rose emerge, blending seamlessly into an earthy base of patchouli, oakmoss, and vetiver. This fragrance is a proof of the brand's commitment to freshness and sophistication.

Application Tips
Apply Eau de Roche with two light sprays to capture its full range. The citrus top notes are bright but fleeting, giving way to a more complex floral and earthy profile that develops over time. It is best suited for daytime wear when the freshness can be fully appreciated.
Marcel Rochas
Founding perfumer · 2 fragrances · French
Marcel Rochas (1902–1955) was a Parisian couturier who opened his fashion house on Place Beauvau in 1925 at age 23, encouraged by Jean Cocteau, Christian Bérard, and Paul Poiret. He pioneered 2/3-length coats and, alongside Elsa Schiaparelli, padded shoulders in 1931, dressing clients including Mae West, Marlene Dietrich, and Carole Lombard. He launched Rochas's first perfume in 1934 and closed his couture house in 1952 to focus fully on fragrance, including Eau de Roche (1946). He died in 1955; his wife Hélène took over the business, which continues today as a major fragrance house.
