Launched in 1994, Eden by Cacharel is a floral fragrance that has become iconic through its distinctive jade-opaline bottle designed by Annegret Beier. The composition begins with fresh citrus and fruity notes like bergamot, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, melon, and pineapple, creating an intensely tropical opening. This gives way to a heart of water lily, mimosa, tuberose, lotus, jasmine, and rose, which is both lush and delicate. The base notes of patchouli, black locust, sandalwood, cedar, and tonka bean add warmth and depth.
Eden has a polarized legacy: some praise it as a distinctive, tropical masterpiece, while others criticize modern reformulations for smelling musty or 'swampy' compared to the softer vintage version. This duality makes Eden a fascinating study in how fragrances can evolve over time.

Application Tips
Eden's top notes are bright but fleeting — two sprays on pulse points will ensure the tropical opening is noticeable. The warm base notes emerge after about an hour and continue to develop throughout the day. It reads best close to skin rather than filling a room.
