Francis Kurkdjian created Cuir Bourbon for Elie Saab in 2016, capturing the essence of leather and vanilla with an intriguing warmth that feels both familiar and unexpected. The fragrance opens with a powdery sweetness before diving into a rich blend of musky and warm spicy notes, creating a complex aroma that is neither overly sweet nor harshly leathery. This composition is anchored by a deep, enveloping base of vanilla and leather, making it a scent that feels both comforting and slightly mysterious.
Apply Cuir Bourbon directly to pulse points — it blooms best close to skin. The vanilla and leather base notes take about an hour to fully settle, so give it time before reapplying. This fragrance is perfect for cooler evenings when its warm spicy and musky notes can truly shine.
