The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2016, Shantung by Etro is an Oriental Floral fragrance for women and men, crafted by perfumer Mathieu Nardin. The composition opens with a burst of cassis and litchi, followed by the freshness of mandarin orange and rose. As it evolves, peony adds a delicate floral touch, while incense brings a hint of complexity. The base notes of cashmere wood, musk, and cedar create a warm and enveloping finish.
Shantung captures the essence of Etro's Italian elegance, blending vibrant fruity and floral top notes with woody and aromatic undertones to evoke a sense of refined sophistication.
One or two sprays are enough to capture the vibrant top notes and allow the woody base to develop slowly. This fragrance is best for daytime and early evening wear, as it maintains a delicate balance between freshness and warmth.
