JF by Floris was launched in 1992 and immediately became a modern classic within the storied brand's repertoire. The composition opens with bright citrus notes of bergamot, lime, and Amalfi lemon, which are tempered by clary sage and coriander, creating an aromatic freshness that is both invigorating and sophisticated. As it evolves, the scent reveals a warm woody heart with cypress, petitgrain, and jasmine, leading to a base of musk, Virginia cedar, oak moss, and ambergris that reads as earthy and slightly spicy. This balance between fresh aromatic notes and rich woodiness is emblematic of Floris' signature elegance.
JF has a strong presence but doesn't project loudly across a room. One or two sprays on pulse points will allow the citrus to open up before giving way to the woody base. It pairs particularly well with cooler weather, where its earthy warmth feels more pronounced.
