The story behind the bottle.
Bottled Absolu, created by perfumers Annick Menardo and Suzy Le Helley for Hugo Boss in 2024, is a Woody Aromatic fragrance that has quickly become a standout. The composition opens with incense and leather before settling into a base of patchouli, myrrh, cedarwood, and davana. It is both warm and smoky, creating an enveloping cocoon around the wearer. This fragrance was voted the number one best men's fragrance in the 2025 Fragrantica Community Awards, cementing its place as a top contender among mass-market designer releases. While it has been widely praised for its depth and complexity, some critics note that it is particularly strong during colder months.
Apply one to two sprays, and let it settle on your skin for about five minutes before heading out. The smoky and warm spicy notes bloom best close to the skin rather than projecting widely across a room.
