The story behind the bottle.
Hugo Energize Spray, launched by Hugo Boss in 2008, was crafted by perfumer Claude Dir to embody the invigorating essence of modern masculinity. The fragrance opens with a vibrant burst of pink pepper and lemon, creating an immediate sense of freshness and energy. This is complemented by mint and pineapple leaf, which add a zesty green note that feels both crisp and uplifting. At its heart, cardamom and freesia bring a soft spicy floral aroma, while the base notes of teak wood, leather, and vanilla ground the composition with warmth and depth.
Two sprays on pulse points is sufficient to capture Hugo Energize Spray's full character. The top notes are bright but dissipate within an hour; however, the woody base continues to unfold for several hours, making it ideal for daytime wear.
