Launched in 2014, II by WIDIAN is a collaborative effort between perfumers Ali Aljaberi and Jean-Claude Astier. This Oriental fragrance opens with the bright zing of mandarin orange and plum, creating an immediate sense of freshness and sweetness. As it settles into its heart, rose and vanilla emerge to provide a warm and comforting embrace, while sandalwood and musk ground the composition in earthy depth. The addition of moss adds a subtle green complexity that keeps II from becoming overly sweet.

Ali Aljaberi, based in Abu Dhabi, grew up around his family's fragrance boutique, opened in 1982. He studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, and with the help of perfumer Jean-Claude Astier founded the brand A J Arabia in 2008, later renamed Widian as its ambitions grew international.
