Floris's Leather Oud was launched in 2014, offering a blend that marries the depth of oud with the rugged charm of leather. The composition opens with fresh spicy notes and bergamot, giving way to the rich, smoky heart of agarwood (oud) and geranium. This is contrasted by warm, woody undertones, accented with carnation and patchouli, before settling into a base of amber and vetiver that reads as an earthy, animalic warmth. Leather Oud stands out in its ability to evoke the rugged elegance characteristic of Floris's heritage.

Application Tips
Apply Leather Oud sparingly — the top notes are bright but short-lived. The warmth of the base notes comes through best when allowed to develop close to skin over time. Ideal for cooler evenings or layered under a jacket.

Shelagh Foyle began her career in laboratories at Yardley of London, then trained at Givaudan's perfumery school in Switzerland, and later directed perfumery creation at Robertet, where she was elected President of the British Society of Perfumers. She now serves as head perfumer at Floris, the nearly 300-year-old family-owned house, where she revived the Peau d'Espagne formula for Mahon Leather.
