Launched in 2015 by Fragrance Du Bois and crafted by Francois Merle-Baudoin, London Oud is a Woody Aquatic fragrance that marries vibrant freshness with deep warmth. The composition opens with mint, lemon, bergamot, and sea notes — creating a crisp aquatic effect that feels like a refreshing breeze off the Thames. As it develops, lavender and white flowers introduce an herbal and floral softness before nutmeg, agarwood (oud), cedar, and patchouli anchor the scent in rich woodsmoke and spice.

François Merle-Baudoin, born in Grasse, is a fifth-generation perfumer whose grandfather founded the fragrance Anaïs Anaïs. He began working in his family's laboratory at age twelve and trained formally at Roure's fragrance school in Grasse, later working across France, Singapore, and Australia over a 25-year career. His creations include Pacific Rock Moss for Goldfield & Banks (with Carine Certain Boin) and Sahraa for Fragrance Du Bois.
