Lys Mediterranee by Frederic Malle was launched in 2000 and crafted by perfumer Edouard Fléchier. This unisex fragrance opens with a bright marine-aromatic accord, featuring sea water, bergamot, lemon, and ginger, which creates an invigorating freshness. The heart of the composition is dominated by white florals such as lily, lotus, orange blossom, freesia, tuberose, and ylang-ylang, providing a delicate and powdery floral bouquet. The base notes of musk, vanilla, cedar, and amber add warmth and depth, grounding the scent in a soft spicy and musky finish.

Application Tips
Apply Lys Mediterranee lightly for a daytime wear to let the marine top notes shine. As the day progresses, the floral heart will emerge, providing a subtle yet alluring presence. For evening, a slightly heavier application allows the musky base notes to come through, creating an intimate warmth.

Founding perfumer · 12 fragrances

Edouard Fléchier was one of the most creative perfumers of his generation, blessed with an innate talent for olfactory balance. His hypersensitive nose made him a prodigy at Roure, where he was a student, and has been a key component to his inventiveness ever since. Yet, even as a star, he remained humble and uncompromisingly self-disciplined, never once missing his morning ritual of smelling raw materials and refreshing his knowledge of the fundamentals.
