Launched in 2005 by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, Bahiana is a unisex fragrance created by Jeanne-Marie Faugier. This composition opens with a bright burst of citrus — lemon, orange, and mandarin — that feels like the first light of day hitting your skin. The heart introduces fir resin and guaiac wood, adding an earthy warmth that contrasts beautifully with the freshness above. Rose and coconut soften this juxtaposition before settling into a base of musk and amber, creating a scent that is both vibrant and grounding.
Bahiana's top notes are bright and immediate but fade within an hour. To ensure longevity, apply two sprays to pulse points; this allows the base of musk and amber to take center stage after the citrus fades. Best worn during cooler months or in a warm climate where its fresh-spicy character shines.
