Launched in 2019 by Memo Paris, African Rose is a Woody Spicy fragrance created by perfumer Aliénor Massenet. This composition opens with the freshness of cumin and cardamom, which contrasts beautifully against the richness of saffron and rose. The heart of geranium and bergamot adds an aromatic layer that transitions seamlessly into a base of patchouli, oud, leather, musk, and vetiver — creating a warm, earthy embrace. African Rose is neither overly sweet nor too spicy; it finds a harmonious balance between its contrasting notes.
Apply this fragrance in light layers to allow its complex notes to unfold naturally. The spicy top notes are fleeting, so the aromatic heart and warm base will carry the scent through the day. It pairs well for both daytime and evening wear, depending on the occasion.
