The story behind the bottle.
American Novelist by Michael Malul London, launched in 2024, is a collaboration between perfumers Alexis Grugeon and Honorine Blanc. This aromatic fragrance opens with the crisp freshness of mint and bergamot, blending seamlessly into the woody and green accords of juniper and clary sage. The heart notes of basil and moss introduce a fresh spiciness that contrasts beautifully with the base of leather and cedar. American Novelist captures the essence of an intellectual journey, where sharp clarity meets earthy depth.
American Novelist projects best when applied to pulse points. The mint and bergamot opening is bright but fleeting, so aim for an initial impact that allows the woody and leather base notes to develop over time. This fragrance reads better close to skin than across a room, so layer sparingly.
