The story behind the bottle.
New Journalist by Michael Malul London, launched in 2024 and crafted by perfumer Alexandra Monet, is an Oriental fragrance that captures the essence of modern masculinity. The composition begins with a bright citrus-aromatic opening of apple leaf, mandarin, and lemon, which cuts through with freshness and vibrancy. As it evolves, floral notes like lotus and geranium add softness, while blue lavender brings a calming herbal touch. The base is grounded by sandalwood, vetiver, and amber, creating a warm, woody foundation that feels both modern and lasting.
One to two sprays are sufficient for this fragrance. The bright top notes fade within a couple of hours but leave room for the warm woodsy base to shine throughout the day. It's best suited for daytime wear, where its fresh and calming qualities can complement any professional setting.
