Launched in 2006 by Escentric Molecules, Molecule 01 is a radical experiment that pioneered the single-molecule fragrance concept. Perfumer Geza Schoen focused on Iso E Super, a synthetic molecule known for its subtle yet profound impact. This fragrance is almost entirely composed of this mysterious ingredient, which creates an enigmatic, musky-woody scent with powdery and amber undertones.
Molecule 01 has built a reputation not just for its distinctive composition but also for the reactions it elicits from those who smell it. Wearers often report that people get unusually close to identify what they're wearing, feeding into its pheromone-like mystique. This minimalist approach helped spark the broader trend of ingredient-forward fragrances in the 2010s.

Application Tips
Molecule 01 is intimate by design — its sillage is low, so it reads best close to the skin. Apply it generously on pulse points for maximum impact. The Iso E Super takes time to develop fully, so give it an hour to bloom before you assess how it's wearing.
