Launched in 2018 by Maison Martin Margiela, Mutiny is a daring Oriental Floral fragrance for both women and men. Created by perfumers Dominique Ropion and Claire Liégent, this composition opens with a vibrant citrus and green accord that gives way to a heart of tuberose and white florals. The base notes introduce an unexpected animalic twist with leather and agarwood (oud), adding depth and complexity. Claire Liégent was born in the Champagne region and grew up in her father's restaurant, developing an early sensitivity to scent. She trained at ISIPCA from 2007 and apprenticed at Symrise, then worked at IFF and IFF-LMR in Grasse before moving to Takasago, where she has created fragrances for Giorgio Armani, Lancôme, and Yves Saint Laurent, including YSL Y. In 2012 she co-founded the Parisian niche boutique Nose.
