Nanban by Arquiste is a Oriental Spicy fragrance for women and men. Nanban was launched in 2015. Nanban was created by Rodrigo Flores-Roux and Yann Vasnier. Top notes are Black Tea, Saffron and Black Pepper; middle notes are Myrhh, Leather, Coffee and Chinese Osmanthus; base notes are Copaiba balm, Olibanum, Sandalwood, Styrax and Juniper Berries.

A Signature Fragrance
Olibanum
Derived from the Boswellia tree's sap, olibanum is a resinous incense with a complex scent profile. It exudes an aromatic and woody aroma, often accompanied by hints of citrus and spice that add depth to any fragrance. This versatile material has been used in rituals and perfumery for millennia, its earthy warmth evoking the essence of ancient trade routes.
Sandalwood
Sandalwood, sourced from the heartwood of trees native to India and Indonesia, carries a rich, creamy aroma that is both smooth and slightly sweet. Its scent is often described as warm and woody, with a powdery undertone that adds depth and complexity to any composition.
Styrax
Styrax, derived from the sap of trees native to Asia and the Mediterranean, exudes a scent reminiscent of balsamic sweetness with subtle hints of vanilla and honey. Its natural essence is both soothing and complex, evoking the rich textures found in nature's most secluded groves.
Rodrigo Flores-Roux

Rodrigo Flores-Roux, born and raised in Mexico City, studied biology before moving to France at 20 in 1989 to attend ISIPCA in Versailles, interning along the way with Jean-Claude Ellena. After early work designing scents for shampoos and cosmetics, his breakthrough came with Clinique Happy; he now serves as Senior Perfumer and Vice President of Fragrance Creation at Givaudan. His work for Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, Carolina Herrera, and Estée Lauder has earned him numerous FiFi Awards and induction into the Fragrance Foundation Hall of Fame.
