Launched in 1990 by Yves Tanguy for Aramis, New West Desert Sensual Nectar is a Floral Aquatic fragrance that stands out with its blend of fresh and warm spicy notes. The composition opens with basil, bergamot, oregano, and thyme, creating an aromatic freshness that feels both crisp and inviting. As it develops, hyacinth, jasmine, and rose bring a lush floral bouquet to the forefront, while calone adds an ozonic touch, reminiscent of cool mountain air. The base notes of plum, sandalwood, oakmoss, patchouli, and clove ground the fragrance with earthy warmth and depth.

Application Tips
One or two sprays will do — the ozonic top notes are bright but fleeting, while the floral and woody base lingers for hours. This fragrance reads best close to skin rather than diffusing widely, so aim for pulse points like wrists and neck.

Yves Tanguy worked for eight years at Chanel in Grasse before moving to America to work for Estée Lauder, including its Aramis line, then joined Mane as perfumer-creator in 1979. One of the first perfumers to use Calone for iodized, marine notes, he created New West for Aramis in 1988 — reportedly by adding Calone to Cristalle de Chanel — and also composed Lancôme's Magie Noire.
