Born in 1957 and raised in Grasse, Michel Girard graduated from Lycée Fénelon in 1974 and built his early career at Robertet before becoming a Senior Perfumer at Quest International in 1986. He joined Givaudan in 1998, working with Givenchy, Gucci, and Valentino, and composed fragrances including Burberry's Touch For Women, Cerruti 1881 Black For Men, and Givenchy's Extravagance d'Amarige.
