The story behind the bottle.
Frank Voelkl crafted Golden Rule in 2025 for Phlur, a fragrance that balances sweet and fruity notes with the warmth of vanilla and coconut. The opening is vibrant, with pear and mandarin leading into pink pepper's spicy edge. This gives way to a heart of orange flower water and jasmine, where floral softness meets tropical richness from coconut milk. The base, anchored by sandalwood and benzoin, rounds out this composition with a warm, powdery finish that feels both comforting and sophisticated.
This fragrance develops best with a moderate application — one or two sprays allow the sweet and fruity notes to bloom while the base unfolds over time. It's better suited for cooler weather when the warmth of sandalwood and vanilla becomes more pronounced.
