Privé by Ormonde Jayne, launched in 2018 and crafted by Linda Pilkington, is a composition that balances the bright freshness of citrus with the warmth of spicy and powdery notes. The fragrance opens with the crispness of bergamot and green mandarin, before transitioning into a heart of freesia, osmanthus, and jasmine, which adds an airy floral touch. This is then anchored by a musky base that includes sandalwood and ambroxan, creating a scent that feels both fresh and enveloping.

For best results, apply Privé directly to pulse points where your body heat will activate its warm notes. The citrus opening is bright but fades within an hour, so the powdery and musky base becomes more prominent as the day progresses.

Linda Pilkington grew up in Cheshire, England, and spent fourteen years in Brazil running a soya bean farm and an ice-cream business before returning to London. A friend's request for a quality scented candle led her into perfumery; when that friend, who worked for Chanel, commissioned a candle, orders grew quickly and she founded the niche house Ormonde Jayne in 2000, named for the road she lived on and her middle name. Her fragrances, created with Geza Schoen, are known for unusual ingredients drawn from her travels.
