Launched in 1990 by Ralph Lauren, Safari is an aromatic and green fragrance that captures the essence of adventure and nature. Perfumer Dominique Ropion crafted this composition around galbanum and marigold, which create a vibrant and fresh opening. The heart notes of orange, black currant, and mandarin orange add a fruity brightness before settling into a woody base of vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, and patchouli that feels both earthy and warm.

Application Tips
Safari's aromatic top notes are bright and fleeting, so apply an extra spritz to ensure they linger. The woody base develops over time, making it ideal for daytime wear when you want a scent that evolves with your environment.

Dominique Ropion is a daring perfectionist, a true inventor. The risks he takes are invariably accompanied by a relentless pursuit of exact olfactory balance and flawless composition. His perfumes are like great architectural feats: in the same way that a bridge, whose seemingly miraculous suspension of weight is in fact a harnessing of counteracting forces, Dominique often balances excessive doses of powerful ingredients with meticulously-measured, subtler accords, until the composition holds up on its own. A good perfume, he likes to say, must always appear obvious.
