Seven Veils
“Seven Veils by Byredo is a fragrance for women and men”
The Quick Read
Respected, if divisive — a powdery, soft spicy composition with a vanilla undertone. Voted best for fall and winter wear — and genuinely unisex.

Seven Veils by Byredo, launched in 2011 and crafted by perfumer Jérôme Epinette, draws its narrative from the biblical tale of Salome's dance. The composition opens with fresh carrot seed and pimento berries before transitioning into a heart of Tahitian vanilla flower, laurier rose, and glycine. This floral bouquet gives way to a base of tiger orchid, sandalwood, and vanilla, creating an intricate balance between powdery sweetness and woody depth. The fragrance captures the enigmatic charm of its namesake story, evoking both mystery and sensuality.

Application Tips
Seven Veils blooms gradually on the skin, so one or two sprays is sufficient. The powdery top notes are fleeting, but the base notes develop slowly over time. This fragrance reads better close to the skin than across a room, making it ideal for intimate settings.

The story behind the bottle.
The quiet tension of a dimly lit room where whispers and shadows interweave in the air, just before the dance begins.
