Sortilège by Le Galion is a Floral Aldehyde fragrance for women. Sortilège was launched in 1937. The nose behind this fragrance is Paul Vacher. Top notes are Aldehydes, Lilac, Ylang-Ylang and Lily-of-the-Valley; middle notes are Iris, Mimosa, Narcissus, Turkish Rose and Egyptian Jasmine; base notes are Musk, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Amber and Labdanum. "The iconic fragrance of the House Le Galion and signature perfume of the famous Stork Jazz Club in New York in the 1930s. “Sortilège, the fragrance that makes women faithful. Paul Vacher

Paul Vacher, born in 1902, discovered his gift for fragrance while studying chemistry, beginning his career at 25 alongside Marcel Guerlain before joining Lanvin to build its perfume business. In 1927 he collaborated with André Fraysse on Arpège, an instant success that established his reputation. In 1935 he acquired Le Galion perfume house from Prince Murat, launching the celebrated Sortilège in 1936, and in 1946 he was sought out by Christian Dior and Serge Heftler-Louiche to create the legendary chypre Miss Dior.
