There's a tug-of-war built into Delicate Rose: yuzu and kumquat push in bright and a little sour, while the rose and lotus in the heart want to soften everything into something more classically pretty. Bamboo in the opening keeps siding with the citrus, adding a green, slightly hollow freshness that stops the rose from taking over too early. By the base, sandalwood and cedar settle the argument in favor of warmth, though the citrus never fully disappears - it lingers as a faint sourness under the woods. Nathalie Lorson built this less as a rose soliflore than as a negotiation between two moods.

Application Tips
The yuzu and kumquat top fades within the first half hour, so don't judge the fragrance on its opening alone - the rose and sandalwood pairing that follows is where it actually lives. Two sprays at the wrists let the citrus and woods layer naturally as it dries down.
