Released in 1983 and composed by Beatrice Piquet, Trussardi Uomo belongs to an older school of men's fragrance that isn't afraid of florals or honey in the same breath as leather and oakmoss. Carnation and rose sit surprisingly close to the surface for a fragrance this dry, softened by honey but never sweetened past recognition, while caraway and juniper keep the aromatic opening a little spicy and unexpected. The leather-oakmoss base is where it earns its structure — dense, dry, faintly bitter — and it's what keeps the honeyed floral heart from reading as soft. This is a fougère-leather built with real weight to it.

Béatrice Piquet (1963–2010) was a French perfumer who joined International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) at seventeen, rising from laboratory assistant to senior perfumer over a six-year apprenticeship under JP Mary and Alain Astori. Her portfolio included Bulgari Petits et Mamans, Aroma Tonic for Lancôme (with Alain Astori), and Emporio Armani Night Him (with Yves Cassar), alongside work for Salvatore Ferragamo, Benetton, Oscar de la Renta, Christian Dior, Guerlain, and Hugo Boss. She died in 2010 after a prolonged illness, remembered for her humility as much as her craft.
