Tubereuse Criminelle, launched by Serge Lutens in 1999 and crafted by Christopher Sheldrake, is an unsettlingly beautiful blend of tuberose and other white florals. The fragrance opens with a bright green freshness that quickly gives way to the intense, almost narcotic presence of tuberose. This floral heart is balanced by warm spices and amber, while subtle animalic notes add a hint of danger, as if this bouquet were plucked from the dark underbrush rather than a sunlit garden.
