Launched in 1979 by Penhaligon's, Victorian Posy is a Chypre Floral fragrance that captures the essence of an English garden at its peak. Created by Michael Pickthall, this composition opens with green and aromatic notes like galbanum and Amalfi lemon before transitioning into a heart of hyacinth, chamomile, violet, rose, and jasmine. The base notes of oakmoss, vetiver, amber, patchouli, and sandalwood add an earthy, mossy warmth that grounds the floral bouquet. Victorian Posy is a proof of Penhaligon's heritage, blending classic florals with subtle woodsy elements in a way that feels both lasting and elegant.

Michael Pickthall was a senior perfumer at IFF before he and his brother Terence left to found Contemporary Perfumers Ltd (CPL) in 1971, which grew into the largest privately owned fragrance house in the UK. He created four fragrances for Penhaligon's: Lily of the Valley (1976), Bluebell (1978), Elisabethan Rose (1984), and Douro (2004).
