Launched in 1933, Vol de Nuit by Guerlain was crafted by Jacques Guerlain as an ode to the elegance and sophistication of its time. This woody fragrance opens with a bright citrus-aromatic blend of bergamot, lemon, orange, and mandarin orange, creating a fresh and vibrant top note. The heart of iris, aldehydes, and floral accords like narcissus and jasmine adds depth and complexity, while the earthy base notes of oakmoss, orris root, sandalwood, spices, and musk ground the composition in a lasting warmth. Vol de Nuit is neither overly sweet nor overpowering; it strikes a balance between crisp modernity and traditional luxury.
