James Heeley
James Heeley, born in Yorkshire, England, studied philosophy, aesthetics, and law at King's College, London. Working in design in France, he discovered how scents are crafted, and a 1996 meeting with Annick Goutal proved a turning point. A largely self-taught perfumer, he founded Heeley Parfums in 2006, known for minimalist, nature-inspired fragrances made in a small traditional studio in the south of France, beginning with Menthe Fraîche (2006). He lives and works in Paris.
