Michael Bodenham

Michael Bodenham was a seventh-generation master perfumer at Floris, first formulating the house's fragrance No. 89 in 1951 and later creating Floris Elite. He spent hours perfecting his blends in the arched brick cellar beneath 89 Jermyn Street nicknamed 'the mine.' The Bodenham family took over Floris in 1878 when James R.D. Bodenham married Mary Anne Floris and assumed the business from her brother Joseph.
