The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Elite by Floris was launched in 1980, a time when the brand had already established itself as a bastion of British elegance. Michael Bodenham crafted this woody aromatic fragrance with a fresh spicy and citrus opening that hints at crisp bergamot and juniper, giving way to earthy notes like fir and lavender. The heart is anchored by petitgrain and grapefruit, while the base layers in mossy oakmoss, leather, cedar, vetiver, amber, patchouli, and musk — a composition that feels both lasting and rooted in its era.

How to wear it

Elite develops best with a few sprays to the chest, allowing the citrus-aromatic top notes to mingle with the earthy base as the day progresses. The leather and mossy elements ensure it reads well close to skin, so layering is key for longevity.
