Deconstruction as a form of memory

Our Story
Martin Margiela founded his Paris house in 1988 with a philosophy of anonymity and deconstruction that upended fashion's relationship with authorship. Replica, the house's fragrance line, extends that philosophy into olfaction: each scent is a precise reconstruction of a specific place and time — a Berlin jazz club in 1992, a beach walk in Formentera, a jazz club at 3am. They are not fragrances. They are madeleine moments.
Our Philosophy
“Maison Margiela holds that the most interesting territory in luxury is the space between what things are and what they could be. Fragrance, like fashion, is most powerful when it questions its own conventions.”
