Meabh McCurtin was born and raised in Ireland, studying biochemistry at the National University of Ireland, Galway, before further study at the École normale supérieure in Lyon.
Her path through Geneva, Amsterdam, Paris, and New York led her to IFF, where she was mentored by master perfumer Dominique Ropion. She created Eau d'Amsterdam using headspace analysis of elm tree leaves, and with the Irish house Cloon Keen composed Róisín Dubh, winner of the Fragrance Foundation's 2019 Best New Independent Fragrance award.
