Our Story

Thameen was founded in London in 2013, its name derived from the Arabic word for 'precious'. The house positions itself at the intersection of British heritage and Middle Eastern luxury — rare ingredients sourced from across the world, constructed with the restraint of English perfumery and the richness of the Gulf. The Insignia Collection bottles each fragrance with a wax seal that references the great perfume houses of the 19th century.

Top notes are Guatemalan Cardamom, Cypress, Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Agarwood (Oud), Cedar, Patchouli and Iris; base notes are Musk, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Haitian Vetiver and Amber. “Indian Royalty were considered somewhere between man and God and this ritual adornment with perfumes and jewels created something of a super-human presence.The name itself comes from temple designs and decorations and the image of the women, once decorated, as a perfect, carved goddess.
